Pausing is not passive.

Here’s how to practice the pause when it matters most.


Step 1: Notice the Trigger


The body always reacts before the mind. Tight chest, shallow breathing, racing thoughts—these are signals, not commands. Awareness is your first win.


Step 2: Breathe Before You Speak


Take one slow breath in through the nose and release it fully. That single breath interrupts the emotional loop and gives your nervous system a chance to reset.
